Day 1

Arrival in Salalah  

You will be met on arrival at Salalah Airport and transferred to the hotel.

Day 3

Salalah-Muscat : 176 km

On the second day, go on an excursion to the quaint fishing village of Taqah which is also home to different bird species. In this village, you can explore Taqah Castle and stroll alongside the Beach. Then proceed to the ancient town of Khor Rori, also known as Sumhuram, and explore ruins and inscriptions. It is noteworthy that this town, dating back to 100 BC, used to be the center of frankincense trading. Your next exploration is at Anti-Gravity Point where people come to see their cars going up the hill at Neutral gear. Then you reach the peak of Jabal Samhan. At the end, you get back to Salalah for a domestic flight to Muscat.

Day 5

Muscat-Wadi Ash Shab-Sur : 280 km

In the morning, you visit Bait al Zubair Museum and admire the most exceptional collections held by a private entity.  Then you ride on a traditional wooden dhow and take in the sights of Muscat Coast. Afterwards, depart Muscat for Sur. On the way, make a stop in Quriyat and visit Quriyat Fort and Fish Souq. In addition, you may also encounter Flamingos.  Your next exploration is in Wadi Ash Shab where you can visit beach, villages and Falaj Irrigation System. Afterwards, go for a stroll in Fins Beach. Finally, make a stop in the ancient city of Qalhat, registered in UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit Bibi Maryam Mausoleum. Stay overnight in Sur.

 

Day 7

Wahiba Sands-Birkat Al Mouz-Nizwa : 180 km

Depart Wahiba for Nizwa, the birthplace of Islam in Oman. En route, visit Traditional Local Market (if possible) and Ibra Historical District known as the gateway to Oman’s Sharqiya region. Before reaching Nizwa, explore Birkat Al Mouz Village (literally means banana pool) and visit its both ruins and UNESCO-listed Falaj Irrigation System. Stay overnight in Nizwa.

Day 9

Misfat Al Abriyeen-Bilad Sayt-Muscat : 245 km

Wake up early in the morning and watch Sunrise in Misfat Al Abriyeen. After a local breakfast, you depart for Muscat. En route, explore Jebel Akhdar Mountain (literally means green mountain), known for its labyrinth of wadis and terraced orchards. Your next exploration is in Bilad Sayt Mountainous Village and Wadi Bani Awf which covers cool attractions such as Snake Canyon. Then you stop in Nakhl and visit its fort and proceed to Barka where you can explore its souq and fort. At the end, drive along seaside to Muscat.

 

Day 2

Salalah-Mughsail Beach-Salalah : 145 km

Start your sightseeing in Salalah, located in the south of Oman. In the morning, you visit Al Balid Archeological Site, registered in UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sultan Qaboos Mosque featuring two domes and two minarets and AlHosn Palace. Then you go on an excursion to Nabi Ayub Mausoleum considered as an important pilgrimage site for both Muslims and non-Muslims. Afterward, go for a stroll in Beautiful Mughsail Beach and Marneef Cave and Blowholes. Stay overnight in Salalah.

Day 4

Muscat

Start your city tour by visiting Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. This fantastic mosque which was built with an inspiration from Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque in Isfahan, features a large Persian carpet and big chandeliers holding 24 carat gold plating. Then proceed to Royal Opera House, considered as a reflection of the unique contemporary architecture of Oman. Afterwards, stroll in Mutrah Souq, the oldest Bazaar in Oman. After visiting National Museum, the showcase of the nation’s heritage from the earliest human settlement in the Oman Peninsula, you proceed for a photo stop to the magnificent Al Alam Palace as the formal residence of Omani Kings, and Jalali and Mirani Portuguese forts. At the end, some grilled fish is served for dinner.

Day 6

Sur-Wadi Bani Khalid-Wahiba Sands : 115 km

Start your sightseeing in Sur by visiting Bilad Sur Castle and Sunaysilah Fort, built to defend the city about 300 years ago. Then head for Dhow Factory where you can take the opportunity to look into the process of building wooden boat, and Al Ayjah Lighthouse, built by the Portuguese as a defending structure. Proceed to Ras Al Hadd for a delightful stroll along Turtle Beach. Then you stroll in Wadi Bani Khalid where big pools, boulders and springs refresh you. At the end, enjoy amber-colored sands and towering sand dunes, which gives you the opportunity to have an exquisite trekking in Wahiba Sands.

Day 8

Nizwa-Misfat Al Abriyeen : 177 km

In the morning, start your sightseeing in Nizwa. First, you visit Nizwa Fort featuring a unique large round shape used as a defending structure in the past. Then head for Nizwa Souq where Silverware, silver-plated daggers, potteries and jewelry are marketed. Next, you go on an excursion to Bahla and visit Bahla Fort, the first Omani site registered in UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pottery Souq and Jabreen Fort, an important center of learning astrology, medicine and Islamic law in the past. Afterwards, go for a stroll in Al Hamra Mud City and visit Bait al Safah Museum where the staff are locals who practice the traditions, norms and roles of the Omani people. Then drive up to Jebel Shams Mountain (literally means sun mountain), considered as the highest mountain of the Hajar Range and take a trek in Misfat Alabriyyn Village offering beautiful gardens and open terraces. You will stay overnight in Misfat Al Abriyeen.

Day 10

Departure Muscat

Transfer to MCT Airport for your flight home.
